dr. Carolien A.N.

Knoop-van Campen

Assistant professor

I am assistant professor at the Behavioural Science Institute and Pedagogical Sciences and Educational Sciences program of the Radboud University, The Netherlands.

Learning processes fascinate me. My research areas are multimedia learning, dyslexia, reading strategies, adaptive learning technologies, teacher dashboards, self-regulation, and twice-exceptional students. Although diverse, all these aspects center around the questions ‘how do people learn’ and ‘how can we improve learning’.

In order to improve our knowledge of learning processes and to ensure my research is valuable to the education field, I work together with fellow scientists from different universities and practitioners in the educational field. I am always open for new collaborations.

Check out our newest paper in Frontline Learning Research "How teachers interpret displays of students’ gaze in reading comprehension assignments".  It shows first insights into how teachers experience gaze displays as an innovative tool to support reading instruction.

In November, I gave a keynote during the professional development day of the CED group on the digitalization of education.

In October, you could see me in a digital intermezzo of the National Dyslexia Conference with a presentation on the effects of audio support in learners with dyslexia.
